Automatic Chronograph Evolution

The first watches by talented young watchmaker-designer Frederic Jouvenot will make their appearance in January to coincide with the SIHH 2009 exhibition.Jouvenot's Automatic Chronograph Evolution is the result of the dedicated work, and is the first self-winding chronograph watch to orient the automatic winding mechanism on the dial side.

The Frederic Jouvenot Automatic Chronograph Evolution features a 44mm case made from 18-karat white or rose gold. A tapered rehaut descends into an intricate three-dimensional dial that reveals glimpses of finely finished metal surfaces that includes perlage and Cotes Circulaires. The subsidiary seconds and chronograph 30-minute subdial are strikingly recessed, which give added emphasis to the visual impact of the massive bi-directional gold central winding rotor.

Frederic Jouvenot has plans to present 88 examples of the Automatic Chronograph Evolution in each metal variation. The watches will be equipped with a crocodile leather strap and an 18-karat gold buckle.
